The medical field, in general, offers a wide range of options for patients who are seeking treatment. Patients are generally referred to Otolaryngologists when there is a specific problem that is within our physicians’ scope of practice. As specialists in the field of Otolaryngology, we are better able to concentrate on the treatment of ear, nose, throat and neck diseases and other medical problems associated with these specific areas. While our focus is on the entire well-being of our patients, we strive to provide the best medical care specifically within the field of Otolaryngology.

As part of our goal of providing a full range of services, we staff a board certified Audiologist for complete hearing evaluations and a certified Physician Assistant for pre and post-operative appointments. We offer early morning and late afternoon appointments, sinus x-rays, allergy testing and treatments, in-office cosmetic and facial plastic surgery procedures. One of our goals is to see all patients within 24-hours of an appointment request. Our utmost goal is to see all patients as quickly as possible while rendering the best patient care possible. Our physicians are on call 24-hours per day, 7-days per week for patients treated at Ear, Nose, & Throat of Northwest Georgia.

 Allergy

We provide allergy testing as well as various treatment options for our allergic patients. Once one of our physicians determines that allergy testing is appropriate for you, our Allergy Department will then see you for an initial consultation. After obtaining a detailed allergy history from you, we will individualize your allergy test panel and, based upon your test results, create and implement a personalized allergy treatment plan just for you.

Typically a management plan includes a combination of:

  1. Avoidance
  2. Allergy medications
  3. Allergy desensitization through allergy injections or oral immunotherapy (drops given under the tongue)

For the patient whose quality of life is significantly affected by allergies, knowing what they are allergic to and then implementing a specific treatment plan can be extremely helpful. Allergy desensitization with either shots (given in the arm) or drops (given under the tongue) do involve a commitment from the patient, but are well worth the time and effort. Ultimately in treating your allergies, our goal is to see overall improvement of your allergic symptoms and less of a dependency on allergy medications.
